After School Rides

Spring & Fall Sessions

Our 8-week spring and fall after school programs offer 1-day/week or 2-day/week options, van transportation to and from trails, coaching, riding on a variety of trails and trail systems, team camaraderie, fun and adventures on the bike, and lessons in trail stewardship.

  • Spring Session: Mar. 30th - May 21st

    Fall Session: Aug. 24th - Oct. 15th

    Time: 4:15pm - 6:45pm

    • 2-day Program: choose from Mon/Wed or Tue/Thurs

    • 1-day/Week Programs: Choose 1-day/ week to ride

    No rides on Labor Day

    Van transportation included

  • 8 - 18 years of age (2nd - 12th grade)

    Each ride, athletes split into smaller groups based on age and skill level.

    • Suitable for Level 3 Riders or higher

    • Must be able to balance, get started from a stop, pedal consistently, stand up on pedals while bike is coasting, and brake safely on a trail or dirt surface with varying topography and features.

    • Must be prepared to ride with a coach and group of athletes for the duration of the ride.

    • Must be prepared and willing to ride on a variety of terrain (e.g. uphill, downhill, singletrack, doubletrack, trails with rocks and other features, and bike path)

    • This is not a “learn to ride program”. Athletes must be able to safely ride a bike before signing up for this program.

    • 20” wheel or larger trail ready bike in safe working condition with hand brakes, gears, and tires adequate for off road riding. (No coaster brakes)

    • Properly fit helmet in safe condition (No cracks, broken straps, or dents).

    • Well-fitting hydration pack or backpack that can carry the following items during the ride: water, snacks, tube, and rain jacket. We recommend a CamelBak type pack with integrated water reservoir.

    • Shoes with adequate tread (No sandals or Crocs).

    • Adequate water & snacks for the ride.

    • Tube (even if athlete has tubeless tires).

    • Hand pump & multi-tool

    • Rain jacket

    • Full Finger bike gloves

    • Sunglasses

    • Athlete must be prepared to ride in changing weather conditions. On cold days, they must bring an extra layer and warm gloves.

  • Athletes meet at the SMBA office and ride in the vans to a different trail location each ride.

    Ride locations are determined at 4pm day of ride based on weather, trail conditions, athlete / coach goals, and permit restrictions.

    Note- Staff or coaches cannot confirm ride locations until 4pm, day of scheduled ride

  • Spring or Fall Session options:

    • 2-days/week: $699

    • 1-day/week: $375

    • Add Sundays (3-days/week): $989

    • 1-day (add on/drop in): $50

    Multiple Session Bundle Options:

    • 2-day Fall/Spring Bundle: $1330

    • Full Season (2 Day Fall/Spring + 12 days summer): $2800

    • Full Season (3 Day Fall/ Spring + 12 days summer): $3235

Sunday rides

Full day rides in the spring and fall! Our 8-week Sunday program offers full day rides, van transportation to and from trails, team camaraderie, the opportunity to explore new trails and longer rides, and fun adventures on the bike!

  • Sundays, 10am - 4pm

    • Spring Session: Mar. 29th - May 17th

    • Fall Session: Aug. 23rd - Oct. 18th

    No rides on Labor Day

  • 8 - 18 years of age (2nd - 12th grade)

    Athletes split into smaller ride groups based on age and skill level for each ride.

    • Must have mastered foundation bike skills and ride at an intermediate level (blue trails).

    • Must be prepared to ride with a coach and group of athletes for the duration of the ride; and be willing to ride for the whole day on a variety of terrain.

    • This is not a “learn to ride” program. The Sunday ride program is not well-suited for beginners.

    • 20” wheel or larger trail ready bike in safe working condition with hand brakes, gears, and tires adequate for off road riding. (No coaster brakes)

    • Heil Ranch (Wapiti, Picture Rock)

    • Maryland Mountain

    • Nederland (East/West Magnolia trails)

    • Nederland to Boulder

    • North Table Mountain

    • Sourdough trail

    • White Ranch Open Space

    • Walker Ranch

  • Spring Sunday Option: $699

    Fall Sunday Option: $699

    1 Sunday (drop in): $125

    Add After school rides to a Sunday session (3-days, full time): $989
